Melissa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides therapy for children, adolescents and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, a history of trauma, and any of life's difficulties. She works side by side with you to develop insight, coping skills and healthier ways of thinking. Melissa adjusts her style, with children, teens and adults, while listening carefully to gain understanding.
Melissa earned her BA in Psychology from The State University of New York at Albany and her Masters in Social Work from New York University. Melissa has experience in a variety of mental health settings that give her an enhanced ability to see many perspectives, as well as offer various treatment types. She spent many years working on and supervising a mobile crisis team. She worked at outpatient mental health clinics, and worked at the New York City Children's Center, Queens Campus on their inpatient unit. Melissa also had a private practice in Woodbury, NY before relocating to Charlotte, NC with her family in 2018.
